Bartell’s opens new Bellevue store in midlakes area

Bartell Drug’s 58th store in the family-owned chain has opened in the midlakes area of Bellevue.

Located at 11919 NE Eighth Street, just east of I-405, the 11,782 square-foot Bartell’s store was formerly a Lamps Plus location.

A grand opening kicks off Monday, July 12, with a ribbon-cutting scheduled for July 13 at 10 a.m. as members of the Bartell family, employees, vendors and local dignitaries celebrate the store’s opening and Bartell’s 120th anniversary.

“The opening of our new Bellevue store is a great way for us to add to the celebration of our 120th anniversary. With close proximity to Overlake Hospital, the new Seattle Children’s Bellevue Clinic and Surgery Center and area neighborhoods, we will be able to provide new levels of convenience and services for Bellevue customers,” said George D. Bartell, Chairman and CEO of the Seattle-based chain.

The new Midlakes-Bellevue store will feature a new full-service pharmacy presentation, including clinical care services and an international travel clinic. Product assortments will include many natural and organic health, beauty and cleaning products, nutritional supplements, a broad selection of convenience foods, greeting cards and more.

It will feature Bartell’s exclusive PixPlus department-offering digital print kiosks, a broader selection of camera and sound electronics, on-site one-hour photo finishing and a passport photo center.

In keeping with Bartell’s goal to broaden product offerings for its customers, the new Midlakes store will include a select offering of beer and wine featuring many local Northwest wines.

The new store is expected to employ approximately 15 employee associates.

Founded in Seattle in 1890, Bartell Drugs owns and operates stores in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. Family-owned and operated, it is the nation’s oldest drugstore chain.
