One hospitalized in Bellevue apartment fire

One tenant was injured in an apartment fire on Friday.

Bellevue firefighters were dispatched at 5:41 a.m. to the fire at a south Bellevue apartment complex Friday morning.

Engine 2 was first to arrive at the apartments, 14500 block of SE 24th St. Firefighters located the fire in a first floor apartment and responded to an adult victim. Firefighters immediately initiated CPR.

Firefighters simultaneously extinguished the fire, which was contained to a single bedroom within the apartment. Bellevue Medic 2 transported the victim to a local trauma hospital. As of Friday evening, there was no update on the patient’s condition.

Investigators have determined the cause of the fire was discarded smoking materials. Initial estimates place the total damage at $10,000.
