Bellevue will celebrate Earth Day (Wednesday) with a “Little Lake to Lake Walk” between Larsen and Phantom lakes. The family-friendly, five-kilometer walk, 2 to 7 p.m., along the Lake Hills Greenbelt Trail, will wind through a rich variety of natural, historical and agricultural areas, including the King County Master Gardens and Larsen Lake Pioneer Cabin.

Offered in a partnership with the American Volkssport Association, Wednesday’s walk is the first of a series of four walks in Bellevue throughout the year, highlighting the best of the city’s art, parks, natural and historic sites.

The Little Lake to Lake Walk will feature earth education stations along the way to promote greater awareness and stewardship of the earth.

The walk takes approximately two hours to complete and is wheelchair- and stroller-friendly. Participants can register between 2 and 5 p.m. on the day of the event at the start location, the Lake Hills Greenbelt Community Gardens at 156th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 16th Street.

In addition to the Little Lake to Lake Walk, there will be three other walks, one each in May, September and October.

Walkers can track their progress in “walking passports” available at the start of each walk. If participants complete all four walks and submit a completed passport, they will be eligible to enter to win a prize.

Bellevue Downtown Art & Park 10K Walk, Connecting People, Parks and Art

Walk on neighborhood and city sidewalks, parks and pedestrian ways to view more than 20 pieces of public art. Enjoy a diverse array of media, style and cultural expression in the heart of downtown Bellevue.

Lake-to-Lake Greenway Trail 15K Walk, Connecting People, Parks and Nature

Date: Sat., Sept. 19

Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Registration: 8 to 10 a.m.)

Location: Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm, 2380 Bellevue Way

Enjoy the beauty of Bellevue’s Parks and Open Space System along the Lake-to-Lake Trail. From the farm, participants are shuttled to the start of the trail at Weowna Park. The shuttle runs approximately every half hour.

Lakemont Lewis Creek 5K Walk

Date: Sun., Oct. 11

Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Registration: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)

Location: Lewis Creek Visitor Center, 5808 Lakemont Blvd.
