Five Bellevue students receive college-sponsored Merit Scholarships.

Five Bellevue students have received college-sponsored Merit Scholarships. Officials of each sponsor college selected their scholarship winners from among Finalists in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution.
The awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.
Those receiving scholarships are:
Sunjay B. Bhatia, Interlake High School. Probable career field: Computer Science/Engineering. National Merit Tufts University Scholarship.
Alex Pizzirani, Interlake High School. Probable career field: Economics. National Merit University of Chicago Scholarship.
Michael B. Qian, Interlake High School. Probable career field: Information Technology. National Merit University of Southern California Scholarship.
Venecia Y. Xu, Newport High School. Probable career field: Biochemistry. National Merit Bowdoin College Scholarship.
Curren Kumar Mehta, Bellevue High School. Probable career field: Business. National Merit University of Southern California Scholarship.
