Bidding for art will help Bellevue Schools Foundation

Published 12:17 pm Friday, March 11, 2011

Bellevue Art & Frame is enlisting art and artists to help raise funds for the Bellevue Schools Foundation.

From April 1-30 the program, called “Artist a Day,” will give one artist each day a canvas, four hours of studio time and $25 to help with art tools to create a piece of art. When the piece is finished, it is hung on the wall in Bellevue Art & Frame’s gallery for people to bid on. By the end of the fundraiser, 30 original pieces of art will be up for bids.

For each art piece that is sold, half of the money goes to the artist and half to the schools. Backers of the program add that most artists end up donating their half of the money to the schools.

On May 14 the bidding raps up with an artists reception. The final bidding will go on while food and drinks are served until ½ hour before calling the highest bidders to pick up their pieces.

Bellevue Art & Frame is located at 13131 NE 20th St., 425-453-8959.
