Seattle Choral to perform in Bellevue on New Year’s Eve

The Seattle Choral Company will present Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” in two performances Dec. 31 at the The Theatre at Meydenbauer Center, in Bellevue.
Patrons can attend either the early (7-8:15 p.m.) or the later (9:30 to 10:45 p.m.) performance, depending on their evening plans. A no-host cash bar will be provided in the Grand Lobby before both performances. At the conclusion of the concert, “Auld Lang Syne” will be led by the entire cast.
“Carmina Burana” will be presented in the composer’s own chamber version for two pianos and percussion.
Joining SCC Conductor Freddie Coleman and members of the SCC chorus will be pianists Lisa Bergman and Deborah Dewey, who comprise the piano duo Ventidita, as well as vocal soloists Jennifer Ceresa, soprano; Paul Karaitis, tenor; and Benjamin Harris, baritone.
“New Year’s Eve with the Seattle Choral Company” is presented in partnership with Classical KING FM 98.1. KING FM’s on-air hostess, Maxine Frost, will join the SCC at both performances as Guest Emcee. Attendees can meet Maxine Frost before and after both concerts in the theater lobby.
As a bonus, Wild Ginger Restaurant, located one block from the theater at 11020 NE Sixth St., will offer their dining guests complimentary sparkling wine with purchase of a dinner entrée on New Year’s Eve at the mention of the concert when making reservations. Reservations are accepted until 11 p.m. on Dec. 31.
