For those getting ready to take to the seas for another summer, it’s time to get update on the latest safety regulations
The first of a series of three boat safety classes this spring will be April 28 in Bellevue.
The courses, which are presented by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 22, teach students all the necessary steps to obtaining their Washington Boaters Safety Card, now required to operate a vessel of more than 15 horsepower. The classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28, May 19, and June 9, at Bellevue Fire Station No. 9, 12412 SE 69th Way. The course is a one-day instructional review that ends with an exam. The fee for the class and subsequent exam is $30. Early registration allows organizers to send out study guides to make the process a little easier.
