Totems earn third place at Class 2A state swim meet

The Sammamish Totems girls swim team compiled 226 team points, earning third place out of 31 teams at the Class 2A state swim meet on Nov. 10 in Federal Way.

The Totems 400 free relay team consisting of Katie Walz, Kona Kao, Jillian Weber and Kayla Chenier earned first place with a time of 3:40.88. Weber also captured third place in the 100 fly and finished in seventh place in the 100 back. Walz registered third-place finishes in the 50 free and 100 free events. Sierra Rosenow finished in sixth place in the 500 free and captured seventh place in the 200 free. Chenier collected fourth place in the 100 free and Sydney Quick registered a seventh place finish in the 100 fly. Sammamish sophomore Lilje Stratton earned 10th place in the 1-meter dive finals. Junior Anna Troje finished in 11th place in the 1-meter dive as well.
