Mercer Island man dies from injuries suffered in Bellevue Way car collision

A 60-year-old Mercer Island man who was injured in an automobile collision while trying to turn on to Bellevue Way last month died at Harborview Medical Center Saturday.
The collision occurred on May 23 when a Steven Scott Bremner, driving a BMW 528i, was hit by a Mitsubishi flatbed truck while trying to turn on to Belleuve Way Southeast from the Sweyolocken boat ramp, Bellevue police said. The impact occurred on the driver’s side of the BMW, with the truck heading northbound.
The driver of the BMW suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. The driver of the flatbed truck was not injured. According to the King County Medical Examiner’s office, the driver died from multiple fractures and injuries to various parts of the body
Police said no charges have been filed in the matter, and it was determined that drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.
Traffic in both directions on Bellevue Way was closed for several hours while the traffic investigators reviewed the scene.
