Sievert finishes fifth to lead Bellevue at 3A cross country state meet | Prep sports news

Bellevue took a full squad to the 3A boys meet while Interlake had a complete team of runners on the girls side in Pasco.

Spike Sievert finished his final prep cross country meet in fifth place, just tenths of a second behind the fourth place finisher, and led Bellevue to a sixth place finish at the 3A boys state cross country meet at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Sievert finished in 15 minutes, 42.8 seconds and was the top finisher from the Sea-King district.

Aaron Smith, Kyle Pratt, Graham Wendle, Jacob Feinman, Jimmy Moore and Anthony Bernicchi also ran for the Wolverines.

Sam Giner finished the day in 35th place as the lone competitor for Interlake.

The Saints took a full squad to the 3A girls meet and posted a 9th place showing as a team, led by the 13th place individual finish of sophomore Antoinette Tansley.

The highest 3A KingCo finisher at the meet, Tansley ended her day with a time of 19:11.9 seconds.

Nikita Waghani, Abby Tish, Emily Sun, Annie Davis, Nadia Lucas and Pleres Choi all competed for the Saints.

Bellevue’s Julia Ellings finished in 22nd place and was joined by teammate Katherine Penner.

Sammamish’s Pascale De Sa E Silva was the highest finisher in the 2A girls meet, coming in 14th place for the Totems.

Fellow sophomore Rachel Roberts also ran for the Totems.

Jessica Spray finished in 23rd place for Newport at the 4A girls meet and Grant Stein was the lone competitor for the Knights in the 4A boys meet.

In the 1A boys meet, Daniel Nortz finished his final prep season with a 29th place finish for Bellevue Christian.
