Mudville Pinnacle takes state title

Mudville Pinnacle captured its second AABC state championship crown in three years, defeating the JBA Bruins of Kent 5-2 in the championship game of the Connie Mack State Championships at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue

Mudville Pinnacle captured its second AABC state championship crown in three years, defeating the JBA Bruins of Kent 5-2 in the championship game of the Connie Mack State Championships at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.

Pitcher James King was named the tournament MVP, pitching his second complete game of the tournament in the championship game. Outfielder Troy Perry led Mudville with two singles and a walk in the title game.

Mudville (48-18) won six of its seven games in the tournament, shutting out its opponents three times.

Brad Binder led the team in batting with a .385 average during the tournament.

Mudville now heads to the Connie Mack Western Regionals in Hayward, Calif., which starts today and ends Aug. 2.
