Four teams from the area have had varying results at winter tournaments in California.

Bellevue basketball teams that have left the area to play in holiday tournaments are finding mixed results as the New Year approaches.

The Bellevue High School boys basketball team won its opening round game at the MaxPreps Holiday Classic at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, defeating Chrisman High School of Independence, Mo., 74-57.

The Wolverines had three players in double figures in the win, as Alex Schrempf scored 21, Colton Christian had 18 and Aaron Bright added 16 points. Justin Clark of Independence led all scorers with 22 points in the loss.

Bellevue followed up that win with a 57-48 victory over Windward High School of Los Angeles. Christian, a 6-foot-7 senior forward, led all scorers with 21 points. Bright added 18 points.
