Cole Wiper and Jared Fisher earn Perfect Game invites

Newport baseball players Cole Wiper and Jared Fisher have accepted invitations to Perfect Game's National Showcase June 17-20 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Over the past eight years, the showcase has produced more first round Major League Baseball draft picks than any other showcase in history. The event is one of the largest scouting attractions in all of baseball. Wiper and Fisher are both juniors who pitch and play the infield. The last time a Newport High School player made the event was 2003, when Colin Curtis was selected.
