Wolverines capture fifth place at districts

The Bellevue Wolverines went 3-1 at the Sea-King 3A district tournament from Nov. 3 through Nov. 5. The Wolverines registered victories against Ingraham, Redmond and Eastside Catholic in the tournament. Holy Names Academy defeated Bellevue 3-1 in the opener on Nov. 3. The Wolverines clinched the No. 5 seed out of 3A Sea-King district at the Class 3A state tournament. Bellevue will face the Arlington Eagles in the first round of the Class 3A state tournament at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

David-Smith earns third place

Interlake Saints senior Camila David-Smith cruised to a third-place finish at the Class 3A state girls cross country meet with a time of 18:07. 2 on Nov. 5 at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. Interlake Saints junior Aishanee Wijeratna captured 24th place individually with a time of 19:31.3.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Saints capture second place at Class 3A state meet

The Interlake Saints boys cross country team captured second place at the Class 3A state cross country meet on Nov. 5 in Pasco. The Saints, who compiled a team score of 139 points (low score wins in cross country), were led by junior Dante Paszkeicz at the meet. Paszkeicz captured 15th place overall with a time of 16:09.8. Matthew Roberts captured 31st place overall, clocking a time of 16:29.2. North Central earned the 3A championship with 61 total team points.

Donnel earns 17th place in Class 1A state meet

Bellevue Christian Vikings junior Jared Donnel nabbed a 17th-place finish individually with a time of 16:38.7 at the Class 1A state cross country meet on Nov. 5 in Pasco.

WATER POLO

Wolverines nab regional title

The Bellevue Wolverines defeated their arch-rival Mercer Island 9-4 in the regional championship game on Nov. 5. Bellevue will be a No. 1 seed at the Washington water polo state tournament, which takes places on Nov. 11 and 12 at Curtis High School in University Place.
