Bellevue scores late equalizer in draw against Mercer Island

Bellevue (4-1-3) and Mercer Island (2-6-1) played to a 1-1 tie on Oct. 7 at Bellevue High School. After a scoreless first half, the Islanders opened the scoring midway through the second half thanks to a goal from midfielder and captain Emily Yang. Bellevue scored a last-minute equalizer from freshman Hinana Takashima. Neither team managed to score in overtime, so the two rivals had to settle for a draw.
