When Eastern Washington University faces off against Portland State in the “Showdown on the Sound” in Qwest Field on Oct. 31, Bellevue fans will have a chance to cheer for two of their own.

Wolverine fans will be able to watch 2008 Bellevue graduate Rusty Haehl, a freshman linebacker at Eastern, as well as Portland State standout and 2005 Bellevue grad Tracy Ford, who earned all-state honors his senior season after rushing for 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Ford played the 2006 and 2007 seasons at Idaho before transferring to Portland State last season, where he played 11 games for the Vikings at cornerback, slot back, running back, kick returner and other special teams roles.

The game marks the first time EWU or PSU have played a game in Seattle. Tickets for the event went on sale June 1, and fans may also receive a $5 discount by using the code BIGSKY in the “group sales offer” entry field.

There are nearly 11,000 Eastern alumni who reside in the Puget Sound area.
