Bellevue Community College assistant Dani Baird has resigned to take a head coaching position at Skagit Valley Community College. Baird served as an assistant coach for BCC the past two years, helping to lead the Bulldogs to a school-best record of 42-6 this past season.

“I had a great time coaching at BCC and really enjoyed working with the players and coaching staff,” Baird said. “While I am sad to leave BCC, I am excited for the opportunity to coach in my home town and look forward to the challenge of being the head coach at Skagit Valley.”

Baird played collegiate softball at the University of Oregon, helping her team to NCAA Regional Tournament appearances in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

“We were very fortunate to have Dani a part of this program for the past two seasons,” said head coach Leah Francis. “Dani is a good friend of mine and will be missed.”

Francis also announced the search to fill Baird’s spot is currently under way.
