December 23, 1929 – December 9, 2019

Roy “Bud” Dwight Heberling, 89, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2019, surrounded by family. Born December 23, 1929 to George and Bessie Heberling, of Seattle, Bud grew up on Queen Anne’s Highland Drive, and graduated from Hill Military Academy in Portland. He served in the army in post- war Germany before attending the UW.

Bud was the founder of Redmond General Insurance Agency, still in business today, and a former president of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce. He served as chair of the Redmond Bicycle Derby and was named the city’s first “Man of the Year.”

In 1954, Bud married Elsie Victoria “Vicki” Carlstedt and the couple moved into the Heberling family home on Lake Sammamish, where Bud enjoyed boating and social events. They had two children, Brian and Kristin. Bud loved family gatherings, the Seahawks and genealogy.

Bud leaves behind his son, Brian Heberling, daughter, Kristin Dobson, and three grandchildren, Brittany, Ian and Lydia. At the family’s request there will be no memorial service.
