Karl H. Streissguth

Karl H. Streissguth died peacefully, December 14, 2008 at his home with his beloved sons Mark and Kent at his side. He was born June 18, 1924 in Monroe, Washington to William C. and Elizabeth Streissguth, originally from Arlington, Minnesota.He briefly served in the United States Army as an Aviation Cadet from March to October 1945 and continued service to his country as a Second Lieutenant for the Air Force Reserve until his honorable discharge in June of 1955. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering before joining the Boeing the Company, where he retired as Senior Principal Engineer after 35 years of service in 1985. His retirement years found much joy from hours spent hunting, fly fishing and tending his rose garden.He is survived by his wife of 56 years Cecilia, two sons Mark (Patti) and Kent (Linda), and three grandchildren, Brittany, Raven and Dustin.A gathering will be held December 20, 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue to celebrate Karl’s life.
