JOHN F. CORCORAN

John F. Corcoran, 97, died at his home in Wenatchee on November 23, 2019. John was born March 11, 1922, to James and Marcia Corcoran. John left his studies at the University of Washington to enlist in the Navy during World War II. He was a flight instructor at several Navy bases throughout the mid-west.

The dashing lieutenant made an impression on a young lady who lived near one of the bases. After the war, he married Carol and they shared 67 happy years of marriage. John then began his long career in the automotive industry, launching several new businesses, including Cadillac Square (Seattle), Corcoran Buick (Renton) and Fleet Leasing (Seattle and Bellevue).

John and Carol raised two sons, John and Jim. After retirement, they enjoyed living on a fairway in Palm Desert, California, with 20 years of great friends, golf games and sunny weather. They later moved to Wenatchee to be closer to their children.

At his request, there will be no services. John will be interred in the family plot at the old Tacoma Cemetery next to Carol and his parents. Donations in his memory may be made to the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, 7 N. Wenatchee Ave., Wenatchee, WA 98801. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley, Wenatchee.
