A woman sustained a broken femur after a tree came smashing down on her vehicle Monday evening.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson said the woman was driving eastbound on I-90 in the Eastgate neighborhood when the windstorm knocked the tree on to her Honda Pilot near milepost 13. The woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The Bellevue Fire Department responded and extricated her from the vehicle before taking her to the hospital.
