Windermere real estate agents were out in force Friday, June 20 in their annual community service project, this one at Elder and Adult Day Services (EADS).

Since 1984, Windermere employees in the eight Western states take part in community service days the third Friday in June of every year.

The 60 Bellevue volunteers did painting, landscaping, hauling trash and power washing the exterior and roof of the EADS Bellevue Center. EADS is a community-based program designed to meet the needs of adults with physical and/or cognitive impairments and chronic health conditions.

“We are truly thankful to Windermere for their gift of completing a huge service project to benefit the EADS Bellevue Center,” said Jan Nestler, founder and executive director of EADS. “The need for these services is crucial,” Nestler added, saying American businesses lose as much as $34 billion each year due to employees’ need to care for loved ones 50 years of age and older.

Elder and Adult Day Services has health centers in Bellevue, Issaquah, Des Moines, and Bremerton. EADS serves everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2006, EADS provided nearly $500,000 in uncompensated care.
