Wallace to serve another term on Bellevue council

Kevin Wallace will serve another term on the Bellevue City Council with certified King County election results showing the incumbent councilmember beating challenger Steve Kasner by less than 1 percent on Tuesday.

Kevin Wallace will serve another term on the Bellevue City Council with certified King County election results showing the incumbent councilmember beating challenger Steve Kasner by less than 1 percent on Tuesday.

Wallace has declared victory on his campaign site while Kasner has conceded his loss on his, stating, “… I trust that my opponent will hear and respect the message carried by nearly 50 percent of the voters, and I wish him the utmost success in his role as a Bellevue City Council Member.”

Kasner stated he was disappointed in the low voter turnout – 45.59 percent or 33,872 votes counted – but felt good about the close race. Wallace received 14,628 votes (50.21 percent) while Kasner had 14,435 or 49.55 percent of the votes.
