A runaway horse was struck by a car on the 5000 block of 132nd Avenue Northeast around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday and had to be euthanized.

A runaway horse was struck by a car on the 5000 block of 132nd Avenue Northeast around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday and had to be euthanized.

Bellevue Police report a spooked horse threw its rider and ran from Bridle Trails State Park into the street, where it collided with a car. Neither the thrown horse rider nor the driver sustained serious injuries, according to Bellevue Police Ofc. Seth Tyler.

Tyler states the horse was euthanized by a responding veterinarian, and its body was removed from the road by the street department.
