SeattlePI.com reports that prosecutors have charged a Preston man for an alleged drive-by after he fired at the wrong Bellevue home while gunning for his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.

Andrew Michael Cox, 26, remains in King County Jail following allegations that he fired up to five shots at a house near his intended target on Lake Sammamish Parkway May 28 around 2:30 a.m.

Several rounds struck the mistaken residence during the incident, with one bullet going through a bathroom used by the homeowners’ young daughter.

Prosecutors say Cox had been harassing his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend the previous day.

Cox fled the scene after the shooting, but police served a search warrant on his home and booked him into jail on July 19.

The man whose home was shot up lives with his wife and three children.
