Thin mint thief: An 85-year-old man was assaulted near the Eastgate Albertsons by an unknown man, who stole his car keys and Girl Scout cookies before fleeing. Police were able to locate the intoxicated suspect when a police canine found a trail of cookies leading to the man.

Dine-and-dash drama: Officers responded to reports of a “dine-and-dash” at a restaurant in the 14700 block of NE 20th St. They were able to detain one of the suspects, but the second suspect violently resisted being handcuffed. He pushed an officer, head-butted another and fell on top of one officer’s head. Both men were eventually arrested and booked into jail.

Domestic violence: Neighbors reported hearing an argument at an apartment in the 10600 block of NE 29th St. A man had reportedly slapped his girlfriend several times while she was holding their daughter. He was booked into jail for assault.

June 1

Knife nastiness: Two men who had been fighting for days were driving down Coal Creek Drive when their fight escalated and the driver stopped the car before throwing items out off the window. The passenger left the vehicle to gather his items, then angrily stabbed the car’s tire with a knife. Officers arrested him and also found heroin and drug paraphernalia on the men.

June 2

Not-so-safe: Unknown suspects entered an unlocked residence in the 2400 block of 132nd Ave. SE. and ripped a safe out of the floor.

June 7

Car prowl oddity: A woman called police to report that her vehicle had been prowled in the Eastgate area, and that she believed meth had been planted in her car. It was revealed that the Mobile Crisis Team has been in touch with her before, she was recently released from the hospital and that she had a history of calling police to report non-criminal issues.

June 8

Drunk driving: Police officers responded to a roll-over crash on 148th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 15th Street. Both drivers went to the hospital to be treated for injuries and the driver at fault was arrested for a DUI.

June 9

Teen trouble: A large group of 25-100 kids were driving around Bellevue and having parties over several hours. Police first contacted them at the South Bellevue Park and Ride, where they had littered, were drinking alcohol and driving recklessly. After police ordered the kids to pick up their trash, the teenagers repeated their actions at several parks, leading to police action. While one kid was driving from the Park and Ride to Wilburton Park, he lost control of his Range Rover and crashed. The car landed on its roof at the NE 100 block of Main St. No kids were hurt in the crash and the driver was not intoxicated. Eventually, the kids went home for the night and the activity level slowed down.
