Overlake Service League to take people around the world in 80 wines

For the sixth year, Overlake Service League will hold its Le Vin A Son Apogee (“Wine at its Best”) presented by Lexus of Bellevue.

The premier wine tasting, dinner and auction will be held Saturday, Nov. 14 beginning 6:30 p.m. at the Jonas Jensen Fremont Studios, a soundstage venue in Seattle. The main event will be preceded by a VIP party beginning at 5:30.

Guests will not only sample some of the highest rated (Robert Parker 90 points and above), wines from 80 countries around the world, but also this year, “Around Washington” will feature one superb wine selected from each of the 11 Washington viticultural regions.

The Washington vintners have been specially selected by event sommelier, Shayn Bjornholm, MS, Court of Master Sommeliers and Director of Education at the Washington Wine Commission. Shayn and his committee of region’s top sommeliers will be on hand during the evening to answer questions and give advice and critiques.

VIP guests will have a rare opportunity to sample his 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Pere de Famille which will be released in 2010.

In addition to fabulous wines, guests will dine on sumptuous food prepared by Lisa Dupar Catering. The gourmet cuisine has been paired to complement the wines.
