Ripped off purse: At 2:17 p.m. in the 10500 block of Northeast 8th Street, a victim reported that she was sitting outside when she felt a tug. Someone ripped her purse from her shoulder. The victim yelled and a nearby officer took notice. The officer chased the suspect and was able to apprehend them. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
Uncooperative witnesses: At 6:48 a.m. in the 2500 block of 124th Place Northeast, there were reports of an early morning disturbance where several people were outside yelling. While enroute to the scene, police were told one of the subjects began crashing their car into a parked vehicle. When police arrived, they interviewed two subjects at the scene. But nobody provided information for the officer.
But why?: At 10:10 p.m. at Northeast 4th Street and Bellevue Way Northeast, a victim reported that they were walking on the sidewalk when a suspect approached him, punched him and took his phone. The suspect then smashed the phone on the ground and ran. Officers were able to locate the suspect. The suspect then spat on an officer’s face.
Sleeping outdoors: At 2:53 a.m. in the 1100 block of 11th Avenue Northeast, an officer conducted a walkthrough at the downtown library. There they found four subjects sleeping on the property. At the King County Library staff’s request, the officer issued a notice of trespass to each of the four people.
Left behind gun: At 12 p.m. in the 3000 block of 118th Avenue Southeast, a construction crew found a loaded gun in the wooded area of an apartment complex. The gun was rusted and difficult to clear. It was loaded with no record. The gun was booked into evidence.
Ex-wife vouching: At 10:56 p.m. in the 5400 block of Lakemont Boulevard Southeast, an intoxicated man tried to settle a fight with his girlfriend by having her speak with his ex-wife on the phone. His girlfriend became angry and hit him. Then she threw his phone off the balcony.
Drugs: At 2 p.m. in the 2400 block of 148 Avenue Northeast, a suspect was found slumped over the wheel at a gas station. Suspected heroin was found with the suspect, and they were arrested.
Pole driving: At 3:25 a.m. at Newport Way and Lakemont Boulevard, someone drove their car into a pole. When police responded, the car was empty, but they were able to track the driver down using the registration. The driver was arrested.
Breaking into mom’s car: At 2 p.m. in the 14400 block of Northeast 8th Street, a suspect was breaking out a car window. It was his mom’s car. The man ran from an officer but was soon caught. The suspect told police he ran to make things interesting.
