Man barricades self on bus in Bellevue

The rush hour commute was disrupted Tuesday when a man made threatening comments and barricaded himself on a King County Metro bus in Bellevue.

Police were called to the Eastgate Park and Ride shortly before 5 p.m. A passenger on a 271 route bus had reportedly made threatening comments while aboard the vehicle, according to police, who would not elaborate on what the subject said.

The bus driver and passengers were evacuated shortly after police arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, the subject barricaded himself in the bus. It was unclear if he had a weapon.

After nearly 90 minutes, the incident ended peacefully and the subject was taken into custody.
