Bellevue police blotter Jan. 8-14.

The following is a sample from the Bellevue Police Department’s Bellevue Beat Blog:

Jan. 14

Fake names, real warrants: At 2:58 p.m. at 150th Avenue Southeast and Southeast Newport Way, an officer pulled over a vehicle with no plates. The two passengers in the rear seat were not wearing seat belts, gave fake names to the officer and were detained. Both subjects ended up having felony warrants, and suspected narcotics were located on both of them.

Partners in crime: At 3:52 p.m. in the 700 block of Bellevue Way NE, a suspect and his wife stole merchandise from a store. Police booked the suspect into jail.

Police pursuit: At 5:56 p.m. at 40 Bellevue Way NE, a witness who observed the suspect assault someone called 911. The suspect left before police arrived, but was later located at the transit station. A foot chase ensued and police detained the suspect in a nearby parking lot and booked them into jail.

Indecent exposure: At 7:13 p.m. in the 3900 block of Factoria Blvd. SE. The victim was walking when she observed the suspect with his pants down masturbating. Officers contact the suspect and arrested him. He told police that he was an angel and could escape from the handcuffs.

Jan. 13

Suspicious knife swinging: At 11:45 a.m. at Interstate 90 and Factoria Boulevard. A passerby reported a homeless male swinging a knife around on the sidewalk underneath an I-90 overpass. Officers responded and contacted the subject who did not have a knife out at the time. A follow-up revealed that the male was chopping blackberry bushes. Police gave him a warning and advised him to leave the brush cutting to the city.

Purse snatchers: At 12:48 p.m. in the 11100 block of NE 8th St., suspects grabbed four purses and fled on foot. Police did not located them.

No contact order violation: At 8:10 p.m. at 116th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 4th Street, the suspect violated a domestic violence order and a domestic violence no contact order by contacting his elderly parents (the protected parties) at their home. He broke an exterior window and threatened them. The subject then left the scene prior to police arrival. He was later located on foot downtown and booked into jail.

Jan. 12

Unlawful texts: At 9:15 a.m. in the 100 block of 108th Ave. NE, the suspect was issued a summons for violation of a court order after repeatedly texting his ex-wife.

Road rage at gunpoint: At 5:56 p.m. at 156th Avenue Northeast and Northup Way, a driver would not let the suspect merge over, at which point the suspect pointed a gun at him. The victim stopped and the suspect continued northbound on 156th Ave. NE. The investigation is ongoing.

Munchies: At 4:57 p.m. in the 300 block of Bellevue Way NE, an intoxicated man was eating food he did not pay for. Officer contacted him at the Transit Center and issued him a trespass notice.

Jan. 11

Assault: At 9:47 a.m. in the 14900 block of NE 1st Place, the juvenile suspect was arrested for assaulting her father’s girlfriend during an argument over a cell phone and house restriction.

Robbery and K-9 track: 9:43 p.m. in the 15600 block of NE 8th St., a man was at the bus stop in front of Crossroads Mall when three males assaulted him and took his wallet. The suspects fled on foot towards the mall. The man suffered non-life threatening injuries. A K-9 track did not locate the suspects.

Jan. 10

Bias-related graffiti: At 9:28 a.m. at Bellevue College. Someone wrote bias-related graffiti in a bathroom at the college.

Shoplifters caught: At 3:56 p.m. in the 700 block of Bellevue Way NE. Loss prevention caught two suspects who stole items from a store. After a short struggle, the officers were able to detain the suspects before police arrived. The first suspect was booked on an Everett warrant and the second was booked on theft charges.

Death investigation: At 8 p.m. in the 3400 block of 161st Court SE, police responded to an active fire scene. Shortly thereafter, fire personnel on scene advised police that there was a deceased person inside the affected condo. The investigation is ongoing, however, foul play is not suspected.

Jan. 9

Assault: At 2:33 a.m. in the 900 block of Bellevue Way NE, a man who assaulted his cab driver was booked into jail for fourth-degree assault.

Prolific burglar nabbed: At 9:07 a.m. in the 900 block of 110th Ave. NE, officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a leasing office of a downtown apartment complex. An employee had seen the suspect fleeing the business. The suspect description was broadcast and nearby officers located a subject matching that description walking towards them. The suspect attempted to run away, however, police caught and arrested him. He had a felony arrest warrant from the King County Sheriff’s Office for residential burglary (bail: $20,000). He was also identified as the burglary suspect at the apartment complex. A search of his backpack recovered items taken in the burglary. Additionally, items were recovered from several car prowls. He was booked into jail for second-degree burglary, possession of stolen property in the second degree, third-degree theft, possession of burglary tools and obstructing police.

Hit and run: At 9:28 p.m. at Northeast 10th Street and Bellevue Way Northeast, the suspect who was involved in a collision drove away without exchanging information. The victim followed the suspect vehicle to 148th Street and Bel-Red Road, where officers caught up to them. Officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, however, it failed to yield. The vehicle was later found abandoned with a tire missing at 120th and Northeast 8th Street. Police later located the suspect who admitted to the hit and run. The suspect was booked into jail.

Jan. 8

Assault with knife: At 1:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of Factoria Blvd. SE, the victim was walking towards Factoria when two suspects approached him on foot. One of the suspects assaulted the victim with a knife, and the other male punched the victim. The suspects fled on foot. The victim walked to a nearby store and had an employee call 911. A K-9 track was unable to locate the suspect. The victim’s injury did not appear to be life-threatening.

Racial slur: At 11:57 a.m. in the 14600 block of Bel-Red Road, the victim was driving in the area of 148th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 24th when another vehicle started honking at him for unknown reasons. The victim pulled into a nearby gas station, followed by the suspect, who exited his vehicle and shouted a racial slur. The suspect eventually left the parking lot.

Mental issues: At 4:10 p.m. in the 13600 block of Bel-Red Road, a man tried renting a gun at the range but was quickly denied when he started making comments about obtaining guns and black powder “under the table.” He also mentioned that he was “dead already.” He cooperated with officers and was offered mental health services.

Auto theft: At 8:07 p.m. in the 13600 block of NE 20th St., the suspect entered the car dealership stating he was a CEO and had been dropped off by his driver. An employee drove the suspect around the block in a 2018 BMW valued at $89,000. The suspect grabbed the car keys off of the employee’s desk and took off in the vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Everett.

Robbery: At 11:04 p.m. in the 4100 block of Factoria Blvd. SE, the suspect attempted to conceal an electronic speaker and a tube of cookie dough in his pants before exiting the store. He was contacted by loss prevention at the door and he used force to retain his stolen items and get away from the agent. He was arrested in his getaway car by responding officers and booked into jail.
