Police blotter for Jan. 8 - 13.

The following is a sample from the Bellevue Police Department’s Bellevue Beat Blog:

Jan. 8

Bad timing: At 6:15 p.m. in the 16000 block of NE 10th St., the suspect observed his ex girlfriend with a new guy, the victim. They were walking through Crossroads Park. The suspect approached, assaulted and choked the victim. When the suspect was contacted by police, the suspect fled on foot. He eventually slipped, fell to the ground and was arrested.

Jan. 9

Lurker: At 10:57 a.m. in the 100 block of Bellevue Way NE, an employee at a local business reported a strange male, lucking in the back room, stole her personal keys. The suspect was located several blocks away and detained. The keys were found on the suspect during a search. The suspect was arrested and the keys were returned.

Blinds are important: At 8:26 p.m. in the 15600 block of NE 15th St., a suspect and victim got into an argument about broken blinds in the house. The suspect then assaulted the victim and threw a cellphone at the victim’s head. The suspect was arrested by police at the apartment.

Jan. 10

Unwanted flyers: At 12:08 p.m. in the 15600 block of SE 10th St., a local reported to police that she located a white supremacy flyer in her driveway.

Jan. 11

Full exposure: At 4:12 a.m. in the 11000 block of NE 8th St., hotel personnel reported a nude male on a second floor hallway. Officers located him in the lobby and determined that he accidentally locked himself outside of his room. The male returned to his room dressed in the morning edition of the New York Times.

Disturbed funeral: At 11 a.m. in the 100 block of 156th Ave SE, caller reported a female transient disturbed a funeral in progress. The subject refused to leave and argued staff and those attending the ceremony. Police responded after the subject had already left.

Kidnapping: At 3:18 p.m. in the 14700 block of NE 8th St., a suspect forced a victim into his car at her residence in Kirkland. The victim called her mom and told her she had been kidnapped. The suspect threw her phone out the window at a Bellevue store. The victim was able to escape and fled inside the business. Employees kept the suspect from entering and called 911. Suspect fled but was caught on SR 520.

Jan. 12

Throwing chairs: At 3:29 p.m. in the 4000 block of Factoria Blvd. SE, a father reported that his 15-year-old daughter was throwing chairs at a restaurant, causing customers to leave for their safety. Officers arrived and calmed the daughter down before she was taken into protective custody without incident. She was transported to the hospital.

Important mail: At 5:35 p.m. in the 14600 block of NE 3rd St., a victim attempted to retrieve his green card that immigration had mailed to him from his previous place of residence. The suspect resident displayed a gun and later pointed it directly at the victim. Victim fled out of fear of being shot and contacted 911. The suspect was arrested and booked for assault.

Jan. 13

Child raising gone wrong: At 1 p.m. in the 11100 block of NE 8th St., a suspect reportedly used his children, 10-year-old twins, to steal numerous items last April from Gucci. When he returned to the store, employees recognized the suspect. One of the children stole a purse and put it in the suspect’s car before anyone could reach them.
