Derek Snead of Bellevue has been elected chair of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska & Washington for fiscal year 2010-11.

Snead is in-house corporate counsel for Costco Wholesale Corporation, his employer since 1992.

He served as the Chair Elect for the Make-A-Wish Foundation Board of Trustees in 2010, and has been a member of the Board since 2007.

The foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
