Children’s Golf Classic raises $6.7 million

The Friends of Costco Guild, led by Jan Sinegal and Lynn Winters, raised more than $6.7 million for Children’s Hospital at the ninth annual Children’s Golf Classic Aug. 16-18. The three-day event consistently raises the most money of any event held for Children’s.

The three-day event began with a special Dom Perignon champagne reception for top level sponsors. The next evening, 1,100 guests enjoyed dinner on the infield at Safeco Field while bidding on a catalogue of auction items that included a week aboard The World cruise ship, a trip for two to the Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten, an Australian wine trip for two, and VIP packages to the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, NCAA Men’s Final Four, and the Masters.

The top auction item was an Alaskan Fishing Adventure which actually sold twice, raising $180,000. The evening concluded with a special guest appearance by Joel McHale, best known as the host of The Soup on E! Entertainment Channel.
