A woman who assault and carjacked two Bellevue women before crashing their car into a retaining wall was apprehended by police on Friday.

Two women had driven to their residence on the 15600 block of SE 10th Street on June 3 when a 24-year-old black Seattle woman wearing a black leather jacket entered the car, assaulted and threatened to shoot the driver. The women exited the car, and the suspect drove off in the victim’s vehicle.

At approximately 10:01 p.m., the vehicle was found by patrol officers crashed into a retaining wall at the northeast corner of 156 Avenue and Northeast 6th Street.

Minutes later, a woman matching the description of the suspect was located on the corner of 106th Avenue and Northeast 9th Place.

As officers approached the suspect, she yelled out “You got the wrong person.”

While being arrested, law enforcement discovered the suspect was in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen during a residential burglary in Seattle on May 18. The suspect also has two felony convictions for motor vehicle theft and assault in the third degree.

Law enforcement also linked the suspect to a carjacking in Kent that same evening.

She was booked into King County Jail on anticipated charges of robbery in the first degree, possession of a stolen firearm, a felon in possession of a firearm and motor vehicle theft. The case is still under investigation.
