The downtown Bellevue library will celebrate the opening of its new three-level parking garage on June 22 with a ribbon-cutting and car show.
The new garage is adjacent to the library at 1111 110th Ave. NE. The ribbon-cutting starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by the car show at 10.
The car show will feature more than 40 classic, muscle, exotic and electric cars, including a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, 1968 Ford Shelby GT500KR, 1987 Ferrari 328 GTS and more. Music, giveaways and refreshments also will be provided. All events are free.
The new three-level parking garage was funded by the $172 million capital bond that was approved by voters in 2004 to fund major upkeep and expansion of KCLS libraries. The parking garage has 163 new parking spaces for a total of 362 spaces. The project features landscaping, including green walls of living plants on the exterior of the garage, a pedestrian walkway and artwork.
