• Day of Caring and Sharing: Aug. 16. Join with Jubilee Services and the City of Bellevue to help neighbors in need improve the appearance and safety of their homes and neighborhoods. 425-452-7917.

• Volunteer Canoe Guides: Ongoing. Share your expertise in a beautiful, natural environment by providing canoe tours of the Mercer Slough Nature Park. 425-452-4195.
• Downtown Transit Center Community Police Station Volunteers: Ongoing. Volunteers answer phones, assist walk-in visitors, and help the station officer with special projects and community events. Volunteers work one four-hour shift each week. Must be 21 or older, have a customer-service background and be able to pass background checks. 425-452-6017.
• Specialized Recreation Programs: Ongoing. Volunteers needed to help out with specialized recreation programs at Highland Center. Help is needed in after school programs for children with developmental disabilities, as well as evening programs for adults with developmental disabilities. • Police car drivers wanted: Ongoing. Bellevue Police Department is seeking volunteers to shuttle vehicles to and from the city’s service facility. Hours: 6:30-8 a.m. weekdays. Hospice volunteers: Providence Hospice of Seattle is seeking volunteers to provide practical and emotional support to hospice patients and their families throughout King County. Core training for hospice volunteers is held monthly. After completing core training, volunteers are eligible to attend training for patient care, bereavement and other volunteer positions. Meals on Wheels: Meal-delivery program has openings for volunteer drivers and co-coordinators at sites throughout King County. Time commitment for drivers averages three hours once a week, with 35-cent reimbursement per mile.
