Bellevue woman named one of top Sunday School teachers

Esther Harmon, a Sunday School teacher at Bellevue’s Neighborhood Church, has been named one of the top 10 nominees for 2008 Sunday School Teacher of the Year.

Esther Harmon, a Sunday School teacher at Bellevue’s Neighborhood Church, has been named one of the top 10 nominees for 2008 Sunday School Teacher of the Year.

The announcement came from advisory board members of Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day. The nominees were chosen based on their dedication to teaching the word of God, their outstanding innovation and creativity in teaching, and their personal involvement with the students.

Harmon has been teaching Sunday School to 3- and 4-year-olds for more 25 years.

As one of the top 10 nominees for this award, Gospel Light, sponsor of Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day, will honor Harmon with special gifts and recognition. Also, she will receive gift products worth over $150 in value.

The teacher who is named the Sunday School Teacher of the Year will be awarded a vacation for two to Hawaii, and more than $500 worth of Gospel Light product and resources for their Sunday School class and church. The top Sunday School Teacher of the Year will be announced on October 19.
