Bellevue woman honored by college

Lynn Pelton of Bellevue has been named 2008 nursing alumna of the year by the nursing department and student nurses’ association at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Lynn Pelton of Bellevue has been named 2008 nursing alumna of the year by the nursing department and student nurses’ association at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

Pelton accepted the award and delivered the keynote speech at the 26th annual Maud Adams Nursing Research Day on Wednesday, April 9, on the Morningside campus.

Pelton is one of the founders and current president of Greatest Goal Ministries USA. The mission of the not-for-profit organization is to provide assistance to the amputees and their families in Sierra Leone, West Africa. 

Pelton, a registered nurse, also works part time as an elementary school nurse and infusion therapy nurse for a private rheumatology office.

In Bellevue, she has worked as supervisor at the Puget Sound Blood Center and as office nurse for an oral surgery office.  In Seattle, she worked as nursing supervisor of the Adult Medicine Clinic at Harborview Medical Center and as a burn unit nurse at Harborview Trauma Center.
