Bellevue teen wins music competition

Marié Morshita Rossano of Bellevue won top honors at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Junior String Competition.

Marié Morshita Rossano of Bellevue won top honors at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Junior String Competition.

Rossano, 14, is an eigth-grade student at Woodinville Montessori School and the daughter of Kit and Eriko Rossano. She has studied the violin for more than 10 years and is currently a student of Simon James.

The MTNA Junior String Competition took place Friday, March 28 during the 2008 MTNA National Conference in Denver. As a national competition winner, Rossano received $1,000, provided by the Yamaha Corporation of America, Orchestral Strings Division.
