Bellevue Police accepting community academy apps

The Bellevue Police Department is accepting applications for its fall Community Police Academy, a 12-week program that familiarizes city residents with department operations and the challenges facing law enforcement today.

The Bellevue Police Department is accepting applications for its fall Community Police Academy, a 12-week program that familiarizes city residents with department operations and the challenges facing law enforcement today.

The academy runs 7-10 p.m. Thursdays, from Sept. 3 to Nov. 19, and is primarily classroom based. Course topics include patrol procedures, firearms, narcotics, major crimes investigations and hostage negotiations.

The academy is free, and interested residents can apply at city hall or the Factoria or Crossroads community police substations. Click here to apply online.
