BCC Foundation honors six for outstanding work

Bellevue resident Xinhang Hu has received a Margin of Excellence Award from the Bellevue Community College (BCC) Foundation in recognition of her outstanding work in support of the college and its students.

Bellevue resident Xinhang Hu has received a Margin of Excellence Award from the Bellevue Community College (BCC) Foundation in recognition of her outstanding work in support of the college and its students.

Hu, circulation manager at the college’s Library Media Center, is one of six BCC faculty and staff members to receive the honor this year. Nominated by BCC students, faculty and staff, each received a $1,000 award from the foundation.

Others honored by the foundation are Gabrielle Bennett, Seattle, student programs manager; Ray Pfortner, Vashon Island, photography instructor; Ed Smith, Renton, network administrator; Jennifer Laveglia, Seattle, mathematics instructor; and Ruth Mazzoni, Seattle, paraprofessional accounting and business administration instructor.

The Bellevue Community College Foundation is a nonprofit organization that receives and manages gifts from individuals and corporations on behalf of BCC.
