The Sammamish Valley Spring Celebration will inform locals on where food comes from, provide chats with local farmers and showcase new green spaces from May 4 through 6.

The celebration will take place on farms and in businesses that support the local agriculture community.

Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the weekend that celebrate spring. There will be farm tours, chef demos, classes, samples of freshly pressed apple cider, chats with local artists, and opportunities to taste farm-fresh food, get the family out of the city and enjoy a nature walk in a farm field.

Each location has its own schedule of events during the celebration. All ages are welcome and most activities are free.

Participating farms and businesses include: 21 Acres, Gathering Fabric Quilt Shop, Molbak’s Garden and Home, Off the Branch Farm, Sammamish Valley Farm, Sammamish Valley Grange, Tonnemaker Valley Farm, Viva Farms/SAgE, Woodinville Arts Alliance and Woodinville Heritage Museum.

Some highlights for the Spring Celebration weekend are 21 Acres kid activities with Seattle Recreative and John The Falconer, Molbak’s Plant Clinic, Plein Air Art in the Spring Landscape, and volunteer projects at several farms. Attendees can also stop by the Sammamish Valley (SVA) information table off the River Trail on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with trail access to participating farms, to find out more about activities, and get information on how you can support local agriculture. The Spring Celebration is presented by SVA with support from the King County CSA Program, the Woodinville Weekly and Olympic Nursery, Inc.

The Sammamish Valley Alliance (SVA) has been working in the Valley for several years with a dedicated group of farmers and business owners to enrich the public’s knowledge regarding local, sustainable, small-farm agriculture. Sammamish Valley Celebrations, a project of the SVA, is a series of seasonal events held in the spring, summer and fall, created to share the natural beauty of the valley with friends, neighbors, the community and visitors.
