Runway lights, high heels: Vogue returning for Bellevue Fashion Week

Get ready for runway lights and high heels as Vogue magazine once again hits Bellevue by storm for the fifth annual 2010 Bellevue Fashion Week presented by The Bellevue Collection.

Bellevue Fashion Week takes place August 24-29 and will culminate with the second annual Front Row Fashion show presented by Vogue, the country’s leading haute fashion authority.

The Front Row Fashion show sold out quickly last year. Proceeds from the event benefit The Moyer Foundation, a non-profit started by Major League pitcher, Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen, with the purpose of helping children in distress.

“We are honored to be working with Kemper Development Company locally and Vogue nationally to help raise awareness and support for our mission – helping children in distress,” said Karen Moyer, Co-Founder of The Moyer Foundation. “The Moyer Foundation supports many programs on Seattle’s Eastside and nationally through Camp Erin, and Fashion Week is a great opportunity to share our story, while bringing the community together for fashion, fun and philanthropy.”

Leading up to Bellevue Fashion Week this year, the Council of Fashion Designer of America and Assouline Publishing will host a special exhibit presented by Vogue, August 16-29. The CFDA Exhibit will be on display at Bellevue Square, showcasing still photography from the American Fashion Collection series of books.

“Vogue brought a critical national perspective to the Northwest last year with the Front Row Fashion event,” said Jennifer Leavitt, vice president and marketing, The Bellevue Collection. “We are thrilled that they will be returning for the runway show and bringing their expert fashion advice. The addition of the new CFDA Exhibit and book signing brings a new dimension of excitement to the week. We know Fashion Week will be the destination for fashion in the Northwest.”
