Chateau Ste. Michelle wine auction nets $2.25M for Children’s Hospital

The 2008 Auction of Washington Wines held at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery in Woodinville, brought in a staggering $2,250,000 for uncompensated care at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle and the Washington Wine Education Foundation.

Bellevue Philharmonic invites young musicians to audition

The Bellevue Philharmonic has announced open applications for Eastside and Snohomish County youth to perform as featured soloists with the Bellevue Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO). The “Sixth Annual Young Artists Debut Concert” will take place on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Theatre at Meydenbauer in downtown Bellevue, under the direction of BPO Music Director Fusao Kajima.

Ever since Detective Greg Bean of the Bellevue Police Department stepped foot in a forensic artist training class nine years ago, he views the world in a different light. Never having drawn in his life, Bean reluctantly attended the training following an order given by a Lieutenant. The department had a computer program that did composite drawings, but nobody in the department knew how to do the interview portion, a crucial part of creating a composite drawing of a suspect that could lead to potential arrest.
