Kirkland Performance center lines up 2008-09 schedule

Kirkland Performance Center’s 2008-2009 season will include Natalie MacMaster, Taylor 2, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, jazz guitarist Jack Wilkins, the National tour of Broadway’s The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and more – 42 artists in all.

Kirkland Performance Center’s 2008-2009 season will include Natalie MacMaster, Taylor 2, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, jazz guitarist Jack Wilkins, the National tour of Broadway’s The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and more – 42 artists in all.

The 2008-2009 season includes country, swing, jazz and world music, stand up comedy, musical revues, tap and contemporary dance, theatre and more.

Spread throughout the season will be a capella vocal ensembles like The Edlos, Cantus and The Kinsey Sicks in a series called In Harmony; and prominent solo theatre artists like Jude Narita, Charles Phoenix and Mike Daisey.

KPC will present it’s second Namaste Kirkland Series in April 2009. This season’s artists use traditional instruments, rhythms and dance to create their own form of expression while still honoring the heritage in which their work is rooted. It will feature Indo-Canadian performer Kiran Ahluwalia.
