New paintings at exhibit

Abstract artist Joy Rome will exhibit two new paintings at the Daniel Smith Gallery “Customer Invitational Exhibit” March 1 – April 30 at 15112 N.E. 24th St.

Rome studied advanced principles of color and pigment mixing through the Mendocino Art Center, Mendocino, Calif. She apprenticed with a Master weaver.

Wine event to help kids

A Wine Gala to benefit Child United will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 at Matthews Estate Winery in Woodinville. The cost, $50 for one or $70 for two, will raise money to send books, clothes, school supplies donated by the Eastside community to children overseas. Dancers to perform

Bellevue Community College dance students will perform their own choreography in the college’s annual Winter Dance Concert at 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, in the college’s Carlson Theatre.

The students will present works at a variety of skill levels in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance styles.

Admission is free.

Carlson Theatre is located in Building E on the south courtyard of BCC’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, at the intersection of S.E. 28th St. and 148th Ave. S.E.).

Concert at BCC

Bellevue Community College’s Concert & Chamber Choirs will present their Winter Masterworks Concert Saturday, March 14, at First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, at $10, may be obtained in advance by phoning 425.564.3114.

SCT offers Pharaoh Serket

Seattle Children’s Theatre will present Pharaoh Serket and the Lost Stone of Fire through March 7 in SCT’s Charlotte Martin Theatre.

Seattle Children’s Theatre is located at 201 Thomas Street, under the Space Needle at Seattle Center.
