‘Sparc’ of inspiration for homeless issue | Letter

The Reporter’s recent cover story of the official christening ceremony of the opening and development of the Sparc Apartments brought up thoughts regarding the status of the affordable housing strategies. Mayor John Stokes and the council voted on June 5 regarding the best location suited for the proposed shelter and support services managed by the Congratulations for the Homeless.

I hope the council will weigh the pros and cons for each of the sites to proceed forward. In addition, I envision that the over 200 children attending our Bellevue schools will have a home of their own instead of living in crowded shelters for the homeless. I’m looking forward to seeing the results of the numerous workshop meetings held by the Bellevue City Council to receive input from the community members.
