Preserving Bellevue’s beauty

I was surprised to learn that Puget Sound Energy has a great alternative to cutting down 300 trees along 148th Avenue to build a new power line. PSE has installed “self-healing grids” in 22 neighborhoods to dramatically reduce power outages. In east Bellevue, this technology would improve reliability more than a new power line would and no trees would be harmed!

Sadly, PSE is still planning to cut down our trees in early 2019. The power line is apparently more profitable for the company than smart grid solutions. Residents are appealing to PSE’s CEO with an online petition at www.300trees.org. If we work together, we can preserve the beauty of Bellevue for future generations.
