Economy: Watch out for wage/price spiral

It should be obvious that when workers are given a pay increase for doing the same job, the price of the product they are working on will increase. (Get set for more increases in the price of airplanes and education in Bellevue.)

When other workers have to pay the higher prices, they also demand pay increases. In the end people wind up having more dollars, but no more purchasing power. Years later, when workers are retired, as I am, they soon learn that the wage/price spiral is their worst enemy.

Of course, to save money, we all keep buying more foreign products and services, but doing so will eventually bankrupt the country, especially when we choose also to buy natural resources from other countries, rather than use our own.
