Bellevue players Kimberly Nickerson, Abby Parrish and Lily Weingaertner each recorded a goal apiece in the loss. The Wolverines dropped to 2-1 overall with the loss while Mercer Island improved their overall record to 4-0.

Landes had an overall record of 16-3 during his two-year tenure. Bellevue lost to the O’Dea Fighting Irish 34-33 in double overtime in the Class 3A state semifinals on Nov. 25, 2017.

Mount Baker outscored Bellevue Christian 35-24 in the second half, earning a comeback triumph. Bellevue Christian’s Eric Kats scored a team-high 17 points in the loss. Andy Moyer chipped in 16 points as well for Bellevue Christian. The Vikings finished the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 18-7.

The Wolverines earned a 50-33 win against the Hilanders in a winner-to-state, loser-out regional playoff game on Feb. 23 at Bellevue College. Bellevue sophomore guard Kara Choi (pictured) drove to the basket against the interior of the Kelso defense. The Wolverines (21-5) will face the Bethel Braves at 9 a.m. on Feb. 28 in the first round of the Class 3A state tournament at the Tacoma Dome.
